He obtained his Lucky Pencil when he discovered that it always stayed shap, and never needed to be sharpened, nor did the eraser ever shorten, always erasing smooth and neatly. He's not sure who made it, but it keeps it around at all times.

He has a rivalry with Bam, as he not only likes Ruby too, but he also used to be quite the brainiac, until he dropped out of what was essentially school for Robuddies, something that Percy judges him for

The worm in his battery pack is robotic, and is named Matheus. He happened to have been made with some left over parts when Percy was nearly finished, so was added to him.
