By accessing the Amicabots website, Discord server, and DeviantArt group, it is your responsibility to read these terms. Failure to comply with these terms may result in warnings, bans, or other actions taken.
The Amicabots team reserves the right to update these tems and conditions at any time without warning or announcement.
Site Content
The service is offered to users 13 and older. Users discovered falsifying their ages will be banned from the group. Users who reach 13 years of age may appeal to re-join the group once given proof of age. By creating an account on-site, you agree that you are 13 or older.
Amicabots.com may contain the following content:
- PG-13 themes such as dark/crude humor and mild blood/violence.
- References to a fictional apocalypse on a fictional planet; no humans are involved, but themes of fictional death are present due to lore context.
- Mild vulgar language. (No slurs may be used.)
- Mild horror themes including robotic skeletons, animatronic-like anatomy, and mild body horror.
The following content is tentatively allowed within fictional, character-building contexts but must be submitted or tagged with warnings:
- Violent or frightening content surrounding horror, violence, or other heavy themes.
- Content alluding to drug/alcohol/smoking; Amicabots are robotic creatures and therefore cannot consume these things, but fictional analogs to them are allowed with warnings provided. (Please note that fictional content involving or alluding to hard drugs, alcoholism, or addiction are not allowed on-site or within the group.)
The following content, real or fictional, is NOT ALLOWED on Amicabots.com and will result in an immediate termination of services, without warning:
- Pedophilia, incest, zoophilia, racism, sexism, ableism, nazism, homophobia, transphobia, or hate speech.
- Explicit sexual content or kink/fetish of any kind. (What adult members choose to do with their characters is their choice, but it's not accepted on-site or within any of the group.)
If a member is found to post illegal, abusive, or bigoted content outside of Amicabots, they may be banned without warning. Similarly, if a member is found harassing others in the name of the Amicabots, they may be given a warning or strike.
Artwork depicting realistic gore is not allowed within Amicabots; the limit is drawn at depicting damaged or visible robotic internals. This artwork may not be made to resemble realistic human or animal organs.
The Amicabots website may not be used for unlawful content. Submitting, posting, distributing, or promoting illegal content will result in a ban.
User Conduct
Users are permitted to have one account only on Amicabots. Users found making multiple accounts to gather extra free rewards will be given a warning and potentially banned. Members who have made an extra account accidentally may contact the administrators or moderators for help in deleting/deactivating the extra account.
NOTE: Use of "Amicabots" applies to other on-site Closed Species (Nauticava & closed Companion species) as well for character-related rules.
- Do not harass others for owning an Amicabot, and do not solicit users who have Amicabots that aren't available for trade.
- Do not deliberately start drama, harass users, or encourage inappropriate or rude behavior.
- Do not argue with moderators or admins over decisions they have made within the species.
- Amicabots are a closed species. Do not make your own without a MYO ("make your own") slot or express permission from the species owner.
- Do not create unofficial Amicabots, or "off-brands" to share or sell within the group. Users are free to make their own robotic anthro characters with a similar concept to Amicabots, but it must not use the species name or branding.
- Do not deliberately spread misinformation about the Amicabots website or staff.
- Do not use AI-generated images on Amicabots. While the species may be based around fictional artificial intelligence, this group only allows artwork made by real people!
BANNING:
- Users who have been found to violate terms of service on multiple separate occasions can be banned. Depending on the serverity of infractions, members may be privately informed and asked to rectify any violations of terms, or given a formal warning. In certain cases, a user may be banned for one singular, severe violation of terms.
- Users who are banned from the Amicabots website will lose access to the site's features, but will retain any Amicabots under their ownership. The Amicabots owned by a banned user will be voided and hidden on the masterlist.
- The exception to the above is that if a user is found scamming other members of the group (such as price gouging, selling for extra under the table, selling amicabots with no monetary value, using a trade to obtain goods/currency without actually sending the character) then a force transfer may be made via admins to the recipient.
- Ban evasion is grounds for banning related parties. Do not make another account if you are banned from the Amicabots website. If you know a member who is banned, do not speak for the banned member or introduce a third party to convince staff to unban them.
- Banned users may not recieve new Amicabots. They may trade banned Amicabots for goods other than those on the Amicabots site; the regular user receiving the Amicabot must provide proof of conversation with the banned member confirming the trade. The admins may then transfer the character over to the recipient.
- Users who are only banned on the Discord for Discord community infractions may continue to participate in Amicabots website without penalty.
- The Blacklist (list of banned members) is private, as is the discussion of banned users. Do not post about banned users or their reason for banning. Do not harass banned users or contact them to solicit characters from them.
Designing an Amicabot:
- Users may make Amicabot versions of existing characters that THEY OWN without asking first. Characters that are Amicabot versions of existing OCs that have been ported to the species must remain connected to their original design. Should an OC-based Amicabot be traded, it must be traded with all of its other forms as well, to avoid scamming or confusion.
- Users MAY NOT design Amicabots based on other people's original characters, nor may they take heavy inspiration of others' OCs. This includes OCs that a user may have owned in the past or designs that a user created in the past but does not own. If an Amicabot is found to resemble an existing Amicabot or original character of another species too closely, the designer will be asked to redesign it. If the designer no longer owns the character, the current owner of the character will be informed of the matter and asked to redesign it.
- Designing Amicabots as direct versions of copyrighted characters from outside media is not allowed. However, one may take inspiration from canon material as long as no copyrighted symbols or names are used, and the Amicabot designed is not a 1:1 copy of an existing copyrighted character. It is highly encouraged that members of the group design their own characters, as this ARPG is built around exploring and creating one's own characters. Things like first names, design aspects, and personalities may be used in inspiration, but they should be distinguishable a their own character.
- In relation to the above term, canon-based characters ("CBC", also known as character-based characters) are tentatively allowed under the stipulation that they may not be sold or used for monetary gain and that they must be stated on their profile to be based off of an existing copyrighted character. In addition, canon-based characters must have it stated when sent in for design approval, and traded, that they are based off of an existing media. Canon-based characters will have their monetary value set to $0, regardless of whether or not currency was involved in obtaining the MYO slot.
- Canon-based characters inspired by public domain media are allowed to be made and resold, but it's highly encouraged to make them into their own individual character.
- As a final note on canon-based characters, if the creator of the media has explicitly requested no offshoots be made (such as Welcome Home), they will not be allowed. Along with this rule, no characters based around franchises such as Disney may be made, to avoid legal trouble. Canon-based characters also may not be based on real-life people (including streamers/internet celebrities and their personas) or religious figures.
Owning an Amicabot:
By owning an Amicabot, you may do the following:
- Choose your Amicabots name, gender, sexuality, age, personality, and backstory freely.
- Determine who can and cannot draw your Amciabot. (Comment on a masterlist for a "do not draw" request if you'd like to avoid receiving gift art.)
- Participate in Amicabot-only activities, such as events that require you to use your own Amicabot.
However, you may not do the following:
- Use your Amicabot for monitary gain, such as selling merchandise of your Amicabot without express permission from the species owner. (Those interested in doing this may contact Victoria directly, must be over 18, and must pay a one-time fee for usage of the Amicabot species intellectual property,)
- Claim Amicabots as your own species or claim the design as your own, unless you created it.
- Co-Own your Amicabot with another user. Amicabots can only be listed under a single deviantart Account.
Trading Amicabots:
- You may trade an Amicabot you own for other Amicabots, non-Amicabot designs, art, customs, and so forth.
- You may resell an Amicabot only for what it is worth. You can calculate an Amicabot's worth by adding the Base Value along with any commissioned art or Item Upgrades you have given the Amicabot. Amicbots with a base value of $0 that lack art or upgrades may not be sold, but can be traded for anything other than real-life currency.
- You may not trade an Amicabot that isn't uploaded to the Masterlist yet.
- Amicabots with NSFW artwork may not be traded to minors.
Payment:
- Payments made with USD will be done through PayPal as a primary method.
- Do not offer on an adoptable or bid on an auction if you do not have the funds to do so.
Voiding an Amicabot:
- Users may void Amicabots they own anytime. Voiding an Amicabot removes it from the species forever, and it will be hidden from the masterlist. The Masterlist number may be reused for future adoptables or other unrelated characters. Please keep in mind that this is process isIRREVERSIBLE, meaning that voided Amicabots cannot be unvoided without obtaining a MYO slot and submitting the sesign as a new character.
- To void an Amicabot, submit a request to void the character(s) via Claims.
- Corrupted Amicabots that are voided cannot be recreated unless a Corrupted MYO is obtained.
