Love Bug

Honey silenty slipped away from Pepper and her girlfriend after finishing a woodwork project. This new project was unique as it was not a functional item like a bookshelf or stool but something more abstract. Honey widdle small wood duck for a client this time. After xe worked hard and a couple of splinters, xe went out to explore the cool night lit up by a bright, full round moon.

Xe had his pets with it; two different types of pawtals found in the meadows which he now walked and a beece Pepper got xe got for xe for their friendship anniversary.  Honey had named his peachy pawtal Camellia, which fitted due to her stubborn yet delicate nature. Camellia was very gentle and required a lot of attention, but did not care much for being held or pet.  His neediest pet was his sunny pawtal Tuscan, who demanded and signaled for attention by clawing at his knee joint or fluf-covered thigh plate. She would often paw but run when xe dare touched her in any way. Despite her constant cries for attention, the two pawtal give each other enough attention to not feel so alone. 

Honey's favorite, whether it would admit it or not, but most delicate and hardest to take care of was his beece Bumble. He tried to eat a hat or collar for Bumble, but Bumble would choose to eat the material instead. He'd stumble on the beece running around with cloth in his mouth, shaking rapidly when Hnoney dared approach and remove it. The little beece was a handful but Honey adored him, relating to the beece being a bit smaller and the runt of the beeces he knew.  

The four walked into a backfield of trees that overtook a small park, in which Honey, Pepper, and Rose would often scavenge for parts. Honey stopped to squeeze the little beece which he carried. Tuscan demanded attention, jealous, receiving, and attempted head pat before hopping down and looking away with disapproval. Camellia decided to lie along the flowers, rolling slightly before looking up at Honey. 

Honey decided to sit down, making a dent in the grass, and letting go Bumble. Bumble curled into his lap, as the two pawtals curled on either side of him. He looked up to see the stars shining, something that had been familiar to him ever since the apocalypse. He gave a frown recalling the hard times he woke to. Xe was damaged and it was surely to have not survived without Pepper's kindness. He took a sharp inhale, the cold air stinging his insides. He released the air, wings mechanically fluttering. His head felt dizzy and his heart felt heavy when he thought on the day his life changed. He recalled flames and heat, then waking in the overgrown city to a few other bots trying to see if they could get part off xe if he was completely damaged. 

Tuscan seemed to sense his distress of recalling life before, as she nuzzled his arm, licking his hand to get his attention. Honey snapped back to reality and gave her a faint smile, patting her head as she let him. He got up and glanced at his three pets thankful for them. "I am ok," he said to Tuxcan, who decided to jump onto his shoulders pushing him back into the grass. Bumble awoke from his short nap and took to licking Honey face till the nanobot was laughing and pushing them off. The bot got up with a flutter, and pet all three loving on them before deciding to head back before Pepper worried that he had gotten stuck or hurt.
