Roundabout Reaserch: Sewing

It's dark out, lamp light flickering brightly. In this little cottage-style house, there are two creatures. One is an orange/brown Amicabot with bare metal arms named Sproutling, and the other is a white/pink floppy-eared Xero named Pinkie.
"First things first, to thread the needle and tie it! I like to take the thread and make a loop with the needle so you can more easily thread it like this." Pinky talks as she demonstrates threading a needle for Sproutling; they follow along with a needle of their own after watching. "Next, you'll want to cut a section, even it out like this, and take hold of the edge like so, wrapping around the edge here around the needle. You'll want to wrap it 4 or 5 times here, then you pull these wraps carefully and tighten this! And there, you have a knot that won't come undone easily."

Sproutling follows these steps, struggling a bit. "Erm, am I doing this right? This has weird loops, and yours doesn't..."

"That's normal for the first time! Actually, you're doing better than when I first started sewing. It took me a few tries even to get a loopy knot!" Pinkie replies encouragingly. "Try tying a few of these with this thread. You'll catch on pretty quick, I'm sure!"

Sproutling listens to this idea, ties a few knots, and smiles. "I think I've got it down!"

"Yeah, you're doing well!" Pinkie says, getting some small pieces of fabric. "Since we're specifically sewing fabric over things, what you'll want to know is mainly a simple stitch and ladder stitch. For the first one, it's pretty simple! Something you'll want to do is start from the side that'll be in between the fabrics." She sews a simple line slowly, showing Sproutling how to do so. Sproutling watches for a bit before trying to do the same stitch, but they're a little uncertain if they're doing so correctly at first. "As you practice, the stitches will even out, but you shouldn't worry about them being perfectly even since that's pretty unrealistic to try to achieve."

She gets another piece of fabric and shows Sproutling how to sew a ladder stitch. It looks pretty simple. Sproutling follows her example and figures it out pretty quickly.
