Lost

Mechanicorn was created for the purpose of being a little buddy to a mechanic's daughter. He loved his daughter and hated seeing her upset. They've moved to the city recently and she was having a difficult time making friends. Mechanicorn didn't exactly turn out the way the mechanic expected because he did have the soft and fluffy part on the outside but certainly not on the inside. Mechanicorn ended up being pretty temperamental. 

Despite everything, Mechanicorn loved his new family very much. They were the only people he wouldn't avoid, in fact he clung to them and would not stray too far away.  

Which was why he was devastated on the day of the eruption. He scampered around the mess that was once a house, calling out for the little girl and the mechanic. No matter how much rubble he dug through and how many boards he smashed apart, he couldn't find them. 

Mecha eventually curled himself up into a ball and lied there in despair. He couldn't understand why he couldn't find his family.

“It's a game…it's hide and seek. That's why I can't find them!” He concluded. 

He got back up and ran around to look for them again. He looked around the yard. There was too much smoke and dust, he couldn't see. He looked around the living room, he couldn't even tell what it was anymore, the whole thing collapsed. He looked in his father's room, the back half of it was destroyed. He looked In his sister's room. It was gone. 

“Please just come out already,” Mechanicorn cried, “I don't like this game!”

He spent the whole day and the whole night calling out for them, flipping things over, and calling out again and again. 

No one ever answered.
