Where the sun goes to rest
Mechanicorn sat down on scorched floor boards and stared up at the sky. His home was still destroyed, covered in ash and dust, but in its death it gave life a chance. Vines grew over the walls, and plants began to grow through the floorboards. Little critters hid in the cracks and crevices and fed off of the plants and other critters. The grass grew tall and the sun gave off more bright rays before it hid behind the horizon.
Mechanicorn still missed his sister and his father, but perhaps like the plants, they found another way to exist. Perhaps they're resting, happy and free, where the sun goes to rest.
