AMI-225: Julian

Backstory

- Manufactured while the predecessor species were alive and was among one of the first generations of bots.

- The container on his back was formerly a battery pack. It is no longer able to function as one due to being modified for use as pure storage.

- Enhanced with features to make him highly specialised when it came to identifying the quality gemstones and other precious materials.

- Stolen during a break in (alongside a lot of said gems)

- Was returned but - due to being forcefully yanked out of his little work station - his arm joints were broken and it was deemed much more cost effective to just buy a whole new amicabot than find the specific part he’d need - since it was getting to the point where he’d be considered an antique.

- Was sold to a local collector who would later modify and gift him to one of their friends who was a museum curator since they were looking into getting a bot to help with their planetarium section.

- He’d work there as a glorified projector for a while, occasionally having conversations with the children who’d visit on school trips - mostly just answering the questions they’d ask him. There’d be the occasional complaint that he wouldn’t shy away from going into detail about certain things (like if asked about the various ways you could die in space) but overall he was well received.

- But just as things were feeling stable, suddenly the beginning of the end for the species hit and given how he was both very small and loaded with countless star charts - it made him the perfect candidate to be sent up into space with one of the emergency satellites.

- He was modified yet again to help with general maintenance by acting as portable storage for tools and such during the times when he wouldn’t be needed as a map.

- Stayed up there doing his new job for hundred odd years.

- The events of signal searching happen and he arrives back on the planet. The fact that the predecessors are completely extinct coming as a huge shock.

- Nowadays he feels a little lost, missing a sense of belonging or purpose. But Sprocket has been recently encouraging him to go exploring with him so perhaps that may spark something.
