Trivia: Crunch got separated from his sister when an huge tropical storm came to their island and whisked him away to a different one. He did what he could to survive on his own, but due to years of stress, self neglect, and despair, he was starting to break down, mentally and physically.

His arms and legs started to rust and not move much

And when his eyes finally started to quit, he thought it was the end for him. He didn't even get the chance to see Calista again.
